FOUNDATIONAL CREATIVE COACHING

CREATIVE SEASONS

Wow! I have missed you guys!! It has been a life changing year to say the least. I can’t even express how much things have changed for me in the 12 months that made up 2025, but I’m really grateful that you are getting this email and that you didn’t unsubscribe in the midst of my absence. This year I was on the road over 225 days and played 146 shows. It was a lot to get used to for me and my family, but it was amazing as well. Now that I have a hold on the touring life and a few months off the road I’m getting back in a new flow of helping creative people like yourself.

I have a big announcement so keep reading…

I’m not sure if you’ve ever experienced this before, but for me creativity has changed from season to season in my life. All of our creative endeavors are impacted by our circumstances and our priorities. Understanding that can either stall us creatively or we can shift, adapt and set new goals for new seasons. Here’s what I mean…

In 2024, I made a solo record called “Stone Tiger”. I spent the better part of that year making music for TV/Film and working on that record. I was in the studio basically every day writing, recording, mixing, etc… I was able to work with some amazing clients on the TV/film side of things like NASCAR, Fox, and MLB just to name a few and my solo record came out great! It’s been a little over a year and I’m very proud of it. I absolutely love being in the studio and making noise.

But 2025 brought a different set of circumstances, which made me rethink my priorities, and my goals. My touring schedule increased dramatically like from 35 shows to 146 shows. It meant that I wouldn’t be in my studio and didn’t have the means to take a portable studio with me. It also meant that when I was home I didn’t want to work, I just wanted to spend quality time with my family. I had plans for 2025 for recording music that quickly got set aside. I spent about a month thinking about some way I could be creative in these new circumstances and with my priorities in tact. Performing live is a great creative outlet, but I need to be working on something. I need to be creating something.

So…

I wrote a book!

You guys are the very first people to hear about it. I haven’t posted about it, nor have I even talked about it much, except with my close friends and family, but I’m currently looking at the first copy. I can’t tell you how excited I am. It releases Feb 10th and it’s called “Playing with Blocks: 52 Foundational Concepts for the Creative Life”. It’s a book for creative people just like yourself to help inspire you, help you grow, and help you reach your creative goals. I’ll share more about it over the next few weeks on my socials so make sure you’re following on instagram.

My point in this newsletter is that our circumstances and priorities can change, but I want to challenge you to rethink your creativity. It may not always look the same. You may not produce the same thing or the same volume. It may put you in a new exciting or nerve racking situation, but you need to keep creating. In whatever way, in whatever volume, by whatever means necessary.

Seasons of life change, which means there are seasons to our creativity and that doesn’t make us a failure. It doesn’t make us less of ourselves. It just means that we have to discover new pathways, new rhythms, and new frequencies that inspire us to enjoy making stuff.

ACTION STEP: Take some time to consider your circumstances and priorities for 2026 and think about what you want to create and how you can create. Build a monthly or weekly schedule to keep you on track. You can do it!

The newsletter is back on a monthly basis. I’ll be writing each month on a creative concept that will hopefully both inspire you and help you practically to take next steps in projects and grow in your creative journey. Please encourage a friend to sign up. You can send them this LINK.
